Gordon Dee Smith, Principal and Chief Executive Officer: Dee Smith has over 34 years experience in multiple deep research and analytical disciplines including business, political, and military intelligence, geology and geophysics, economics, archaeology, linguistic decipherment, and musicology. Since founding the firm in 1995, he has led SIG in thousands of intelligence and research projects for clients in dozens of industries in areas ranging from investment intelligence, to geopolitical forecasting, to corporate competitive analysis, to customer and brand intelligence, to investigation of foreign and U.S. business entities, to fraud and litigation intelligence, to military intelligence and counter-terrorism. He has worked on five continents, conducting large-scale projects in Western and Eastern Europe, Latin America, South Asia, East Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, as well extensive work domestically in the United States. Prior to SIG, Smith was president of Cima International, a European/Latin American venture capital group, and president of InterCultura, an international cultural exchange organization.
Ellen F. Mack, Chief Analyst and Chief Operating Officer: Ellen Mack has managed and conducted thousands of intelligence and research projects for Fortune 500 companies, investment firms, law firms, operating businesses, non-profit institutions, and U.S. government agencies, including DARPA (the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency). She has extensive experience in all aspects of the intelligence cycle, and has planned, managed, and conducted integrated projects involving open source intelligence, human intelligence, technical intelligence, and imagery intelligence. She has a background in mathematics and sociology, served as principal of a private school prior to her second career in intelligence and research, and is an author of nationally published curricula on leadership development.
The SIG Team: includes a core group of 10 intelligence analysts based on site at SIG’s headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas, plus a national and international distributed network of experienced intelligence and research professionals. SIG’s multi-disciplinary team is comprised of individuals with diverse backgrounds including anthropology, corporate intelligence, economics, finance, former FBI, former military intelligence, linguistics, mathematics, criminal investigation, and other investigative and research-related disciplines.
